EMT | course details
The EMT curriculum consists of four parts. You must successfully complete all four to be eligible to take the New York State exam and become licensed as an EMT in New York.
◾◽ TRAINING:
150-190 hours of lectures and interactive assignments in which you will learn fundamentals of emergency medicine and the care and transportation of patients. Skills: Hands-on skills instruction during which B&H Emergency Medical Training clinical instructors will train you and your classmates in performing the specific tasks in the EMT’s scope of practice.
◾◽ WRITTEN EXAM:
After completing both lectures and skills instruction, you will take a final written exam.
◾◽ SKILLS EXAM:
After completing both lectures and skills instruction, you will take a final skills exam.
◾◽ RIDE-ALONG:
During the course, you will schedule ride-along shifts with a NYC 911 ambulance company during which you will get to practice hands-on in real-life scenarios.
